About American Heart Association BLS Certification Courses
National University’s BLS certification for Healthcare Provider classes in San Diego, Fresno, and San Jose are designed to provide healthcare providers the ability to recognize and treat a variety of life-threatening conditions. Such as adult/child/infant CPR, choking, and AED use. National University’s Division of Extended learning BLS courses are offered at different class time options, as well as offering both Initial CPR training and renewal CPR training to accommodate healthcare provider CPR certification needs. This course is intended for a variety of healthcare providers, both certified and non-certified. Such as emergency medical technicians, paramedics, registered nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing assistants and other allied health professionals.

- Healthcare Provider CPR courses are offered in both the morning and afternoon (see monthly campus schedules for date/time details).
- American Heart Association BLS course textbook and card are included as part of the course cost.
- Course length for BLS renewal is 3 hours and BLS initial is 4 hours
All Healthcare Provider CPR courses offered are taught using American Heart Association guidelines and certification lasts 2 years.
